The Holy Bible
Which Catholic Bible to read, study, and pray with.
- Best for reading & study: RSV-2CE (Revised Standard Version, Second Catholic Edition) (Ignatius Press)
- Best study notes (NT): Ignatius Catholic Study Bible: New Testament (Hahn & Mitch, RSV-2CE) (Ignatius Press)
- Study edition (NABRE): NABRE (New American Bible, Revised Edition) (Oxford University Press)
- Traditional: Douay-Rheims (Challoner revision) (Baronius Press / TAN Books)
- Literary: Knox Bible (Ronald Knox, 1955) (Baronius Press)
Also good: The Great Adventure Catholic Bible (Ascension, RSV-2CE) adds a colour-coded reading plan; the Navarre Bible sets give the fullest commentary.
